An honor for Nickel on the Grass

Nickel on the Grass was named Best Based on a True Story Feature Screenplay at the Faith & Family Filmmakers Awards. I’m humbled by the recognition, but the real gift came earlier, in the writing.

Somewhere in these pages I worked through something I didn’t know I needed to. I set out to write a screenplay and instead found healing I hadn’t gone looking for. So I offer this story, and this honor, back to God — in thanks for the grace of it, and for a family who stood beside me the whole way.
